    Description

    "DRINKING MAN" MECHANICAL PUSH PUPPET TOY
    - Approx. 1940s (Marked "Foreign" under base). 3.5" x 7". Hand painted composition & wood with fabric, felt, plastic & hair-like accents (moves by depressing base).
    This quality figural depicts a sly old gent wearing a snappy plaid coat & hat. Probably made in Germany, when you push him down, he pops back up and his arm bounces so that he appears to be taking a drink of booze.
    The spring-operated figure still performs quite well. An unusual mechanical toy that's loaded with character & eye appeal.
    We consider this piece to be in GOOD to FAIR condition with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. No fabric tears apparent with two felt buttons missing on coat front. Moderate surface scuffing with no composition cracks, breaks or chips.
    Overall, we feel this toy is a very displayable example by most standards (see photos).
