"KUKLA, FRAN and OLLIE" KUKLAPOLITAN COURIER YEARBOOK
- (c) 1951 Burr Tillstrom. 8.5" x 11". 64 pages. Spiral-bound.
This Chicago-based Burr Tillstrom TV puppet show had been sending out free "Kuklapolitan Couriers" for about two years, but when the mailing list for these 4 & 8 page newsletters reached 200,000, the show published this 1951 book instead.
Filled with great Ted Drake illustrations, it documented much of the puppet troupe's history.
This yearbook is mainly black & white with spot color on cover & throughout contents.
An uncommon find (and great original reference) for the "Kukla, Fran & Ollie" fan.
We consider this item in FAIR condition with miscellaneous surface/stain/edge wear. Misc. surface/corner creasing with minor die-cut edge separations on spiral binding. No other tears or chips apparent. Light blue inking on Burr & Fran portrait photo pages.
Overall, despite obvious defects, we consider this yearbook a displayable example by most standards (see photos).
It would make a scarce original display for the discriminating KUKLA, FRAN & OLLIE, VINTAGE PUPPET and/or TELEVISION enthusiast. On a condition code scale of 1 to 10, the above listed item(s) rated (6).
