German Police Polizei Style Single Breasted Greatcoat - Heavily Worn Condition

This auction is for one German Polizei or Police style heavy wool greatcoat. It is in heavily used condition with fraying and wear spots and a missing front button.
It is in the original German style with the brown collar with green Polizei piping and the buttons are pebbled one piece cast aluminum.
This greatcoat came in a large box full of WWII U.S. officer's uniforms.
I have been unable to find any solid information on this style and make online or through my contacts in the collecting community. I thought it may be very late war, post war, or possibly rural police. The wool and manufacture are not close to the quality of originals.
There are no loops on the shoulder for shoulder straps or evidence there were ever buttons there, but there is evidence of what appears to be stitch removal.
I don't believe this coat is a reproduction due to the wear and apparent age, but I don't know when or where it would've been worn.
There is no size or tags present, so please see the following measurements for sizing information:
The yardstick and tape measure were used for measurement reference only, the actual measurements were taken with a tape.
When lying flat, it measures approximately 24 1/2" from the top of the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve, approximately 20" across the shoulders, approximately 22 1/2" from armpit seam to armpit seam, and the overall length when measured from the collar seam to the bottom down the back is approximately 42 1/2".
