Here is another Nakamichi BX-100 stereo cassette deck that has been serviced. This is a second BX-100 I am offering the first one sold on 06/19/21
As always these machines need some TLC as the rubber parts dry out, wear out, and/or become hard defeating the operation of the transport.
FYI I still have some idler tires and belts that I bought a few years ago when Japanese high quality components were easily available. These premium belts will offer better wow and flutter specs as they are similar to the original type Nakamichi used. You can see the Japanese mark on the capstan belt in the pics.
SERVICE PERFORMED:
Cleaned old residue from capstan, reel
hub tables, idler tire motor drive, capstan motor pulley, tape counter pulley
Removed flywheel and cleaned all residue from belt contact perimeter
Reconditioned pinch roller
Cleaned tape path
Re-lubed as needed
New high quality spooling idler tire and capstan belt installed
Tape counter belt removed and
cleaned
found good
Cleaned contacts in relay
All switches and RCA sockets treated with Caig DeoxIt D5 cleaner
Recordings made on this machine are virtually indistinguishable from the source
Checked playback
speed
with 3K Hz reference tape and frequency counter all good
Played several hours of cassettes to verify
operation
Checked all functions and features 100% operational

This is great sounding deck much better than you would expect from a budget machine. I was impressed with the sound from my pre-recorded reference cassettes. All three tape tapes are good 70/120 EQ, EX, SX, MA bias, and Dolby B working corectly. Internal PC boards are in excellent shape.
Cosmetic condition is good with some signs of use. This is also physically clean with no dirt or nicotine contamination. This has been expertly packed with all new ULINE heavy duty materials and is ready to ship.
