Description
For your consideration, a beautiful and perfectly functioning Pioneer CT-F1000 audio cassette deck, ready to go to work for you. Of all of Pioneer’s cassette machines, I think that these were the most elegant. This machine was manufactured in August of 1977, and is one of the cleanest that I have come across. It sounds wonderful. This particular machine has been part of an extensive audio equipment collection that I have been accumulated over the past 40 years. I have much more equipment than I will ever use, and I felt that it was time to make some of
the pieces that I have available to other folks to use and enjoy. This machine was disassembled, the transport removed and stripped, clutches disassembled and inspected, idlers replaced, all pulley to belt surfaces cleaned, transport sliding surfaces cleaned and re-lubricated, belts replaced, all rotating elements lubricated and the transport reassembled and degaussed. The transport was re-installed in the unit, heads cleaned and de-magnetized, all controls cleaned and treated, base motor speed checked and all Pioneer service manual adjustments checked.
I removed the cabinet for pictures illustrating the internal condition of the unit. It has no issues.
The faceplate is near mint, with all silkscreened characters intact and sharp. The faceplate and all control operators were washed, polished and waxed prior to the re-assembly of the deck. The tape transport well back light and the VU meter lighting has been upgraded to LED’s. The steel cabinet has the normal wear issues for any piece of equipment that has been a part of a stack.
For folks curious as to the present functionality of the unit, I created a test/demo tape that I will send along with the unit. Not knowing what everyone would like to hear, I chose Larry Carlton’s and Lee Riternour's “Larry and Lee” as the source material. The tape is a fresh ATR Magnetics FeCr ProChrome Master (yep, there is still someone making excellent cassette tapes). The front-end to the deck was a Carver CT-6 tuner/preamp and a Denon DCD-2560 CD player. I am hard pressed to tell the difference between the CD and the cassette on play-back. I think that you will be very pleased with its performance. Not bad for a machine that is 44 years old. A copy of the owner's manual will also be packed along with the unit.
Due to the age of the unit, it is sold as-is, with no
warranties
, written or implied. I do guarantee it to be in the condition as described.
If you happen to live near-by, local pick-up is OK and encouraged. If shipped, it will be shipped using USPS, with a packing and shipping cost of USD in the lower 48. I am not set up to ship internationally, sorry.
It will be very carefully packed. I will not allow a nice piece like this to be damaged in shipping. It will be insured by me for the amount of the sale.
Buyer must make payment within five business days. I prefer PayPal but also accept bank drafts and direct payment with local pickup. If these conditions are not met, the sale will be voided and the unit re-listed.
Let me know if you have any questions regarding this machine. I will answer them as quickly and as accurately as I can. Thanks for your interest.
