    Description

    A very unique and interesting relic from the British Raj, this antique fly swatter features the tail of a horse. and shaft of solid wood, there is also fittings in silver. A silver collar is etched with "Tommie Lad Nulli Secunous". Nulli Secunous is a Latin phrase which translates to second to none. This is likely in reference to the horse tail, which was saved as a memento of the horse's owner. I could not find any hallmarks on the silver, the workmanship looks somewhat crude but sturdy and made for purpose. The wood shaft measures 17 inches long. The horse tail is 19 inches long. Condition is used, there is denting to the silver and some shallow splits to the wood. A very interesting display item that likely had a military interest.
