Technics RS-671A Cassette Deck - looks/works/sounds amazing - w/ video demo

Presented here is a fully serviced, fully functional 1976 Technics RS-671A Cassette Deck, with a unique horizontal front-load design, all metal body, extremely solid and high quality build (e.g. 4mm thick aluminum front plate). This unit comes with optional wood veneer side boards, satisfies different aesthetic tastes with or without (see photos), and looks amazing either way. There are some scratches & scuffs on the sideboards, but otherwise excellent cosmetic condition throughout.
All functions work and were tested based on my usual week-long listening/testing: playback, forward, rewind, memory (rewind to preset position and auto stop), recording from line in and mic. See

Very glad that I was able to revive this beauty from dead to fully functional. Services performed include: new belts, readjustment of take up, idler, and other transport mechanism, head cleaning and demagnetization, cleaning interior and exterior, deoxiting all pots and connections, lubrication, calibrating motor according to 3000Hz test tape.
It is an incredible view watching the reflection of the horizontally loaded cassette tape rotating in the illuminated tape chamber, with the analog VU meters dancing, especially in the dark! Hope someone will find this amazing machine and enjoy its beautiful sound and look as much as I did!
